Mozzarella, burrata, stracciatella… It sounds so tasty and so Apulian!

Did you know that burrata cheese was created in Puglia in 20-s of XX century? Oh yes, this delicate cheese together with mozzarella from cow milk is another treasure of Puglia region and a highlight of a gastronomic life.

So I invite you to get acquainted with the fresh cheese culture and see how the fresh Apulian mozzarella is being produced and moreover to try the real taste of milk!

It is important to understand that the cheese that you take in a supermarket in Puglia is not an industrial product. This is necessarily a local small or medium production, which every day processes about a ton or two of milk into fresh cheese. 

By the way, did you know that mozzarella, and indeed fresh cheeses, are an important element of the Mediterranean diet which is a daily routine of the Italians? The Mediterranean diet is so efficient that even Michelle Obama years ago has brought its experience to the United States as an idyllic one to favor a healthier way of living of the US citizens (“MyPlate” campaign as part of her healthier eating initiative).

In Italy people live long. Because they take care of their health ad are fixed on quality food.  Having said that, let’s point out that agriculture is the first sector of the Italian economy, because it is the health of the nation.

Well, and now let's go on a visit to the cheese factory!
How the visit happens

We meet with you in a real cheese factory with cows, hay, some smell, a countryside around and we start to watch the process.

Here we pass to the practical part. At this point, you will no longer want to buy mozzarella in your favorite supermarket. It will seem you completely untasty!
After the production step we move to have a degustation: cheeses, bread, salami, other products produced by farm, accompanied by a glass wine and a small talk :)

Visits to the cheese factory is a morning activity, around 9-10 am. Therefore, I recommend you not to have breakfast on this day as you will have a variety of goodies during the degustation.

After this you will be able to drive as in Italy you are authorized to have a glass of wine and use the car.
