Or maybe you had an old dream to make a balloon flight and it will be in Puglia that it will come true? Ballooning in Italy is an amazing surprise and an opportunity for various celebrations: making a proposal of marriage or celebrations of the birthday of a person you love or an anniversary.
Starting from 2020 all these is possible in Puglia. This is a completely new balloon flight project which has been launched in Puglia at five different points at the intersection of the Apulia and Basilicata regions. And this means that you can’t miss it!

Balloon ride in Valle d'Itria
Trulli, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves on the backdrop of red Apulian land - this is the most authentic look of the Valle d'Iria or the Valley of the Trulli. The magical morning landscape makes you freeze and enjoy the view of the charming towns of Alberobello, Locorotondo, Martin Franca and Cisternino. Ostuni looks like a mirage towering majestically on a hill, covered around with a carpet of olive trees, where the greenery is immersed in the blue of the Adriatic Sea.
Where to make ballooning in Puglia

- Gravina in Puglia - the town of stone and water, a secret world which consists of tunnels, hidden crossed streets, churches in the rocks, ancient ovens, which possesses its unique gastronomic excellences and wine and preserves in every corner its glorious past.
How the ballooning happens
The adventure starts early in the morning during the sunrise, around 5:30 am, when the meteorological conditions are the most adequate. After you've arrived to the start point (with a preordered transfer or by your car)and after a thorough briefing of all the passengers, the most exciting phase of the adventure will begin. After the inflation balloon phase is done all the passengers are welcomed on board into the basket.
The balloon heating takes around 10 minutes to receive 100 degrees Celsius to allow the balloon to lift off the ground. Preparation phase takes up to 35 minutes. The flight duration is around one hour and depends always on meteorological conditions and the wind. There is a ground crew is controlling the process of flight and is in connection with the pilot.
After completing the flight, you'll be welcomed with the local traditions - a glass of wine and the delicious products of Apulian territory. Moreover you will receive a flight certificate.
It is highly recommended to book a flight in advance especially during the summer season due to a high quantity of requests. In case the pilot decides to cancel the flight due to the inconvenient weather, you will be able to make a flight in another day. The flight cancellation can happen even after few minutes the flight began.
We highly recommend you to put on comfortable shoes and to dress yourself in the way so that in the early morning you don't feel cold, but later you'll be able to take some cloth off in order not to feel too warm as the temperature will rise.

Which is the price for a balloon flight
- The price varies from 200 and 250 euros per person and depends on what total quantity of passengers will be in the basket, the age and if you book for a group with minimum of 5 to 8 people or just for yourself.
- An exclusive balloon flight for two is 900 euros per couple.
